HYALUBRIX 60 is a treatment designed for temporary synovial replacement in patients suffering from degenerative or mechanical arthropathy of the knee and hip.

HYALUBRIX is a sterile, pyrogenic, viscoelastic solution made from the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid, obtained by bacterial fermentation from a high molecular weight fraction (>1500 kDa).

Hyaluronic acid, a polysaccharide in the glycosaminoglycan family, occurs naturally in many human tissues, such as cartilage and joint fluid: it is continuously secreted into the joint cavity and is the main component of joint fluid, to which it provides the characteristic viscosity and elasticity.
These properties are essential for the fluid to act as a lubricant and shock absorber in normal joints, protecting cartilage and soft tissues from mechanical damage.

In post-traumatic and degenerative joint diseases, the amount of hyaluronic acid decreases and the joint fluid loses viscosity, resulting in impaired function and pain symptoms.

Many data in the literature indicate that the delivery of hyaluronic acid is able to restore the viscoelastic properties of the joint fluid, relieve pain and improve joint mobility.

Indications

• It is indicated for the treatment of pain and improvement of joint function in patients with degenerative or mechanical arthropathy of the knee, hip, shoulder, ankle and trapeziometacarpal joint for up to six months,
• The product is indicated for the treatment of persistent pain after the initial failure of analgesics or in cases of failure or intolerance of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs,
• Improves joint mobility.

Composition 

• Sodium salt of hyaluronic acid 1.5%
• Other ingredients: sodium chloride, dibasic sodium phosphate-12H20, monobasic sodium phosphate-2H20, water for injection.

Warnings

Do not administer to patients with known individual sensitivity to product components in case of infection or skin disease at the injection site.

Although studies in laboratory animals indicate that the product has no potential toxic effects on reproduction and development.

Hyalubrix has not been studied in pregnant women.

Do not use if the package is damaged.

Do not use the product after the expiration date stated on the package.

The expiration date applies to the product stored in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.

Hyalubrix is a single-use product, which means that it should be used only once and only in one patient.

The syringe together with the needle should be discarded immediately after use, even if the solution has not been administered in full.

After use, dispose of in accordance with applicable regulations.

Keep out of the reach of children.

Side effects

Sometimes local pain, swelling, warmth and redness may occur at the injection site. These symptoms are usually mild and transient.

More severe inflammatory reactions, sometimes with the presence of sodium pyrophosphate crystals, have sometimes been reported in connection with intra-articular hyaluronate injections.

As with any delivery treatment, septic arthritis can rarely occur if general injection precautions are not observed or the injection site is not aseptic.

Interactions

Do not use in combination with disinfectants containing quaternary ammonium salts, as hyaluronic acid may precipitate in their presence.

Avoid simultaneous administration of Hyalubrix with other delivery products to prevent possible interactions.

Expiration date

Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.

Validity with intact packaging: 18 months.
