Succinic Acid is an ingredient naturally occurring in every living organism because it participates in the Krebs Cycle (also known as the citric acid cycle), the process of which takes place in the mitochondria.

A number of biochemical processes occurring during the Citric Acid Cycle allow for the so-called Acetyl-CoA, a product of the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins, produces energy (ATP) needed for the proper functioning and nutrition of the entire body.
